I love the book of Nehemiah, and this verse I place before all you Christian soldiers: “Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon.” (Nehemiah 4:17 NKJV) Oh, take that one to heart! Memorize it and absorb it deep into your soul! No matter what you are doing, no matter why or where you are doing it, do your work with one hand while always, ALWAYS holding the Sword of Truth—the Word of God—with the other. Why? Because there are times you are going to find yourself under attack by dark forces. Dear soldiers, that is when you use the Sword of Truth, and He Who is greater and more powerful than those dark forces WILL come to your defense. Spiritual warfare is real, but when you’re armed to the teeth with scripture and prayer, you know Who will win the battle! So keep building that wall and wielding that sword, always armed and ready!
