So good, so calming to finally reach peaceful waters. Like that white blanket of snow outside. Like a ship coming out of a storm to find the tall, crrashing waves are gone, replaced by blue, tranquil waters and a wonderful breeze that fills the sails, pushing the ship onward. God truly goes before! He is always at work, ahead of time and then while things are happening. Jeremiah 29:11 is so very true—one of God’s endless promises: “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” He plans for us even while we don’t know what is going to happen, before we find ourselves submerged in the unknown. And when we find ourselves in the unknown, He will hold our hand—if we will let Him—if we turn to Him instead of trying to rely on ourselves, on our anxieties, on our fears. He will turn those negativities into calm reliance if we give them over to Him. He is truly our anchor and our guiding Light.
