Once upon a time there was a woman who thought she knew Jesus. She went along on her own, scarcely acknowledging His presence. She struggled and made mistakes and was lonely. She sinned every day and didn’t give her sins to the Lord. Life was tumultuous and boring. One day she finally saw what Christ had done for her. She saw the nails, the wood and the weeping. She saw the triumph and the tenderness. Her life was never the same. She fell head over heels in love with Jesus and surrendered her life to Him. Now she sings a song of joy and praise and gives her sins and her problems to Him. She isn’t lonely anymore. Her Savior, her Jesus lives within her and is always with her. She shares her struggles, her tears, her triumphs and her heart with Him. She knows without a doubt that He lives. Hallelujah, He lives!
To prepare our hearts for worship, let’s think upon what life was like before we found Jesus. Let’s focus our praise on the fact that He rescued us from the pit and set our feet upon a firm Rock. Read Psalm 40:1-3.
