Lenten Season

Lenten Season

I’m learning much this Lenten season. Truly.
“Ever so close to my Lord, my God,
Ever so close to Thee;
Supplier of my heart’s Desire,
With You I long to be.”
(by me for Jesus)
And as I write the article about prayer in Gethsemane, I’m learning about humility, about facedown in the dirt praying, repeated praying, praying in agony with all of the heart and soul. And so much more.
Dear Jesus, may this Lenten season cause us all to be still, cease striving and let be. May it cause us to draw near to You, realizing—truly, completely realizing—the depth of Your love for us and what You went through for us—all because of love. Teach us about love, dear Savior. There are people in this world filled with hatred and violence. Cleanse us from this world, dear One. In Your holy and precious name I pray, amen.
