Amplified Bible (AMP)
44 Then turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, Do you see this woman? When I came into your house, you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.45 You gave Me no kiss, but she from the moment I came in has not ceased [[a]intermittently] to kiss My feet tenderly and caressingly.46 You did not anoint My head with [b][cheap, ordinary] oil, but she has anointed My feet with[c][costly, rare] perfume.
We need to apply this to our lives. Do we, out of our love for Christ, go out of our way to show Him how much we love Him and how grateful we are that He has forgiven us of our sins? Do we constantly show Him our love? Do we not count the cost of what we do for Him? “The sinful woman” who anointed the feet of Jesus gave her heart to Him fully, gratefully and without counting the cost. Shouldn’t we do no less?
