Sacrifices

Ephesians 5:1 says, “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” When we love someone, we make sacrifices for them, no matter how much it may hurt, no matter what the cost. Just like Christ did for us. That person comes first, not ourselves. Their life, their welfare, their well-being. True sacrifice hurts, but it is honoring to God. As Christ-followers we are to live a life of sacrifice, finding that our Lord Jesus Christ will fill those empty places in us left by our sacrifices. After all, He is the ultimate Sacrifice, our precious Sacrificial Lamb. He knows how much it hurts. And He cares.
